Get Started

Therapy can be a powerful tool with incredible benefits. It encourages growth, supports change, and provides a safe space for self-exploration. Work with a trusted professional who is 100% invested in your well-being and committed to your success. I understand the courage it takes to be vulnerable and work towards the life you want, if you are ready for change, I am here to help.
  • The best way to get started is to send me an email at draimee@lyonspsydpllc.com

It is easiest for me to respond to emails and I pride myself in my quick response time.

Once we have connected through email and schedule a short phone consult, we can determine if we will be a good match and from there, schedule an intake appointment. Prior to our intake, I will send over all required forms to be completed before we meet.

  • At our first intake appointment, we will more thoroughly discuss your history, reasons for seeking services, symptoms/challenges, as well as work to identify strengths therapeutic goals, discuss the therapeutic process, and answer any questions. This is the beginning of building our rapport and relationship

  • At our intake, we will discuss your specific therapeutic needs and schedule sessions based upon that information. I see clients both weekly and bi-weekly depending upon need and availability.

  • I am currently in-network with Premera, Lifewise, Kaiser, and Blue Cross Blue Shield, Regence in Washington state.

It is your responsibility to know your health care coverage including any copays, coinsurance, and deductibles you may have and when they apply or reset. Depending upon your policy and carrier, your out-of-network benefits and reimbursement rates may vary or may not apply.

I hate financial surprises, so I always recommend contacting your insurance directly by calling the 1-800 number on the back of your insurance card.

Here are some questions to ask your insurance company:

    • Is Dr. Lyons a preferred provider for my policy/plan?

    • What is my responsibility regarding co-pays, deductibles, session fees?

    • Do I need an authorization code for my claims to be accepted?

    • If I am considered out of network for your insurance, how much does my plan reimburse for an out-of-network provider? (What percentage of the fee will I be reimbursed?)

    • How will I be reimbursed?

    • What is the website link to upload my superbill or CMS form?

    • Is approval required from my primary care physician?

    • What is my deductible and has it been met?

    • What is the coverage amount per therapy session?

    • Are there any other restrictions I should know about, or any other information they will need before accepting claims?

I am considered out-of-network with some insurance providers. Out-of-network means that I do not have a contract with your health insurance plan provider. However, using your out-of-network benefits is simple! To use your out-of-network benefits, you pay the fee directly at the time of service, which is $250 for the first session and $210 for all following sessions. If your insurance allows us, we can submit your claims directly to your provider on your behalf or provide you with a CMS or “Superbill” to submit to your insurance provider. Their reimbursement is paid directly to you. For more information and greater detail regarding your benefits, please call your insurance provider about your coverage. It is important to know that any and all billing or benefit issues related to your insurance company are between you and your insurance company.

  • If you are located in Washington state, I’m able to offer both in person and tele-health sessions depending upon your needs.

While face to face sessions are encouraged, virtual therapy can be quite effective for many forms of therapy for children and adults. For some individuals, this option makes it easier to attend sessions and seek support. However, that might not be the best format to connect for everyone. At our intake, we will discuss your current needs and situation to determine the right fit. I will work to ensure that you receive the highest quality of services and will only conduct these services when it’s appropriate.

I use HIPAA-compliant services from Doxy.me and Zoom. These platforms are secure and confidential. For our tele-health session, I will send a secure link that will allow you to enter a private protected virtual waiting room before we begin our session. While you won’t need any special equipment, You will need a high-speed internet connection, a web camera and microphone (most laptops, tablets, and phones have this built in), and a quiet and private space.

  • The office is easily accessible from most areas as we are located right off I-405 ad 520. Our address is 13620 NE 20th St, Suite-I, Bellevue, WA 98005. We are located in the Appletree Plaza. Our office is next door to the Acura dealership, across from the McLaren dealership on the top floor above the TUTU Ballet Studio and across the parking lot from the Papa Johns/Rapid Refill Ink/Wildflour Gluten Free Bakery. You can park anywhere around that building and there are multiple entrances that will get you to the 2nd floor.

As I alternate between virtual and in person sessions, the days I am in the office vary. However, I typically see clients Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and every other Saturday. Please verify if your appointment is virtual or in person prior to meeting.

I honor most major holidays and I am typically not in the office the week between Christmas and New Years. I will give at least two-weeks notice for any other scheduled time off.

  • I respectfully request clients provide at least 24 hours notice for cancellations or you will be billed the cancellation fee ($150.00), unless we both agree that the appointment was unable to be kept due to circumstances beyond your control. Please note that insurance companies will not provide reimbursement for cancelled sessions.
